The Writer’s Loft design is focused on dissolving the barrier between inside and outside space,

merging them as one. As a writer, he is constantly taking inspiration from observing the outside

world, and this design allows him to do so from inside of his space. Through the design of the

inverted balcony, the inside and outside space are physically connected, giving him outside space –

observing space - within the bounds of his living space. The geometry of the space clearly separates

his private spaces from the public space, giving him the opportunity to separate his work from the

more social and public aspects of his life.
